New acquisitions

I managed to get to the collection point of the local Post Office sorting office before the morning rush, and was pleased to find that I had been right about the parcels I had to collect.

The largest contained a copy of the latest version of Richard Borg's BATTLE CRY ...

and the others contained two 'new' cannon for my LITTLE WARS project.

Other than open the parcels, have a quick look at them, and then photograph them for this blog entry, I have not had much time to examine my new acquisitions in great detail ... but on first look, they look even better than I had hoped.

Hopefully the exciting parcels in the post went some way to making up for the stresses of the weekend!

  2. Tim Gow,

    They certainly did!

All I need now is the time to 'play' with my new toys!

    All the best,

  3. I recently purchased the 150th anniversary edition myself. I was quite pleased with the artwork on the tiles and board. The muted/washed colors really did the trick.

I haven't had a chance to try out the new scenarios, but was quite happy to see so many of them.

Hope you get a chance to enjoy the game soon.

  4. Paul Leach,

I have finally managed to snatch a quick look at the rules and scenarios, and I was quite impressed by what I saw. I particularly like the fact that Artillery has a bit more 'staying power' than it had before.

With luck I should be able to 'unpack the box' properly this weekend, but I think that I will have to wait a week or two before I can fight a battle (or two).

    All the best,

    Bob

  5. Where do you put all this stuff

I ask as I am being hammered on all fronts in the "Spring clean offensive"

Much of my kit is retreating to the loft or loaned 'down at the club' in a Dunkirk evacuation style mass exodus

  6. Geordie an Exiled FoG,

A good question ... and one my wife will no doubt ask when she notices the new large box on my wargames table.

In truth, I will find room. I have come to the conclusion that I do need to have a 'force reduction' at some point soon ... but lack of time is stopping me at the moment. I plan to spend at least a day 'pruning' my collection at half term, but if recent experience is anything to go by, these plans may well not come to fruition.

    All the best,

    Bob
